Yard Sale Season!!!!!!

Well I went to the first yard sale last weekend and it was awesome! The first yard sale I stopped at I spent $25.00, but the awesome thing about it was that I found my daughter summer and winter clothes for a total of $22.50. I got about 45 pieces of clothing for her!!!!!! I was so thrilled. And since the kids were so good and my husband and I did not have to get on them for anything I got them 2 toys each (Alayna's suitcase is missing from the picture):) Then we went to a couple more yards sales. After spending $30.00 that day we decided it was time to head home. I am still so happy about the clothes I got a lot of good names...Children's Place...Gap...Baby Gap...JLo...Old Navy...then of course some brands are Wal-mart, Target, and Kohls. At a different yard sale I also got a brand new Pfaltzgraff Christmas design cheese tray w/sculpted server, and at another yard sale I got an almost brand new(only used once) quesadilla maker. Then I got my 3 year some real tools super cheap (they are not pictured). He likes to help my dad work on mowers. My dad has a side job/hobby working on small engines and my son helps his Papap.:)

Sorry my postings have been sparce. The last several months I have been running my grandma to the doctor like crazy! At least once a week I have be running her to Columbus for appointments with specialist and for tests. So my time on the computer have been very limited, but it hasn't stopped me from my frugal shopping. Even though I am running my grandma to doctors appt. and etc. I still stop and do some frugal shopping. She loves my shopping and gets a kick out of it. Right now I am at a slow point, but starting next month we will be going to Columbus for some injections for my grandma. I will try to keep up with my blog, but right now my family comes first. If you all want to know my hectic schedule...Mondays...my son has speech thearpy about 45 mins from our home...then one day besides Mondays I run my grandma to the doctor. She lives an hour from me then it is another hour and 45 minutes to Columbus from her house. Then you all know how long of a wait is usually at the doctors office then the hour and 45 min. drive home for her, then my hour drive home. These trips always makes for a long day especially with two little kids. Then I clean for my grandma once a week (days that I don't take her to the doctor). Then I like to keep my Friday's open for yard sales. Then of course I LOVE having the Weekends to spend with my family:) The picture is of my wonderful Grandma, that I enjoy helping. This picture was from Christmas day. I LOVE MY GRANDMA!

We went to Applebee's Sunday after I took my husband to the Urgent Care. My husband got the Mozzarella Sticks for an appetizer. My daughter Alayna it took her close to 10 mins. just to eat on, but my son and my husband down them quickly. I think it was just to much cheese for her to eat. I thought I would just post a few pictures from my phone of the kids I thought was really cute. The last picture is of my daughter from February 18, 2008. It's amazing to see how much they grow in just one year!

Walgreens Deal for Week February 22-28

This is my Walgreen's deal for this week. I went to Walgreen's on February 22. I was taking my husband to our closes Urgent Care because he wasn't feeling good, but when we got there they weren't open so we had to wait for an 1 1/2 so instead of our 30 min. drive home I went ahead and used that time to do my Walgreen's shopping for the trip. This is what I got....

~Two packages of Pull-up for $20.98 then I used a $3.00 coupons and a $2.00, so I ended up paying $15.98 for both packages.

~ The Lancaster Eagle Gazette newspaper $1.25
~ Walgreen's Alcohol on sale for $.89
~ Walgreen's Peroxide on clearance for $.40
~ 2 Glade scented oil lasting impressions air fresheners on sale for $8.99. I had a buy one get one free coupons, plus in this months easy save you can get a a rebate for $3.00 on each one, so I ended up only paying $2.99 for the two air fresheners:)
~ 2 Glade scented candles were on sale for 2/$5.00. I had a $1.50/2, then I will get a $1.00 rebate for each one, so I ended up paying a $1.50 for 2. My husband LOVES having air fresheners and candles. He likes having our house smell really good:)
~ 2 Reynolds foil on sale for $.89 and I had two $1.00 coupons, so I got $.22 overage:)
~ Then I bought my kids a couple of snacks and something to drink to tie them over until we left the Urgent Care.

Total that I spent was $36.98, but I used my $7.00 Register Returns from my last purchase, then I will get $8.80 back on my Walgreen's gift card (that is including the 10%). So my total was $21. 18 with tax. This is not the best of my shopping trip to Walgreen's but the snacks were to keep the kids peaceful until my husband saw the doctor:)

First off, I got our kids Valentine's Day cards for next year! Nothing like getting them early! Our son, McKinley, got Crayola "color-your-own" V-day cards with heart shaped lollipops for only $0.99! Our daughter, Alayna, got Princess themed V-day cards with heart shaped lollipops for only $0.99! These were both 75% off of their original prices!

Next, I got Zucol cold treatment lozenges for $7.99. With the mail in rebate of $7.99, this item will be FREE!

Next, I got Revlon concealer for $8.99. It was $9.99 but I used a $1.00 coupon. With the mail in rebate of $9.99, this item made me $1.00! Nothing like getting paid to take stuff from the store!

Next, Loreal hair color on clearance for $4.19. Thanks to my dad, I have to cover up my grays!

Next, Gillette Venus women's razor $6.99. It was $8.99, but I used a $2.00 coupon. On top of that, I got a $6.00 Walgreen's register return to be used on a future purchase. So, effectively, I only paid $0.99!

Next, Revlon lip gloss $7.99. It was $9.99 but I used a $2.00 coupon. With the mail in rebate of $9.99, this item made me $2.00!

Next, Walgreen's contact solution $1.99. With the mail in rebate of $1.99, this item was FREE!

Next, Fructis Garnier shampoo $2.99. It was $3.99 but I used a $1.00 coupon. With the mail in rebate of $3.99, this item made me $1.00!

Next, Tylenol Rapid Release Gels $1.49. It was $5.49 but I used a $4.00 printable Internet coupon. I used a $1.00 Register Return from a previous trip, so I only paid $0.49!

Next, Schick Quattro razor refills $3.99. It was $8.99 but I used a $3.00 Walgreen's coupon stacked on top of a $2.00 manufacturers coupon.

My total was $51.45...I used a $10.44 gift card from my previous mail in rebate. My accumulated mail in rebate for this trip was $33.95 (I get 10% extra since I get it put onto a gift card instead of a check, so the total mail in rebate added to my Walgreen's gift card will be $37.35. I also received $7.00 register returns for the purchases on this trip. So, effectively, Walgreen's will have paid me $3.34 to "take" this stuff from their store! I love bargain hunting!

Frugal Valentine Idea

I wanted to share with everyone my frugal Valentine idea for Valentines day. Living on one income with two small children you don't always have the money to spend on nice gifts. So my husband and I decided just to buy cards this year. I am also planning a surprise dinner for two at home and it will only cost about $15.00 if not less. This is what I am planning for our Valentine's dinner at home...Stuffed chicken breast (which I have in the freezer) I only have to buy cream of mushroom soup to add some flavoring, Mashed potatoes (I do have to buy the potatoes), Biscuits (which I already have), Corn (which I already have) Sparkling Grape Juice (I had to purchase that this week) Potato Salad (I have to purchase this since my husband does not like homemade potato salad). I am going to take our kitchen table down to two people, I have a very nice cloth table cloth and napkins. I also have two fancy napkin holders, I am also going to pull out my nice dishes, plus using are champagne glasses from our wedding (4 1/2 years ago:)) Then I am going to make a wonderful chocolate desert. Then I bought the cheap $1.00 valentine cards (32 in a box) I am going to hide those then I will give him clues to go find them. At every 8 cards I will have a little piece of candy with it. Then for the finally I am going to rent him a movie he has been wanting to watch (of course from Redbox which only cost $1.00) I hope my husband will enjoy his Valentines surprise. I will post pictures of everything this weekend or week.

Kroger Deal - Week of 2/2/09 - 2/8/09

Well, Kroger is having their Daytona 500 sale this week ($3 off a $10 purchase on items advertised for the sale in the weekly sale ad so each item of the 10 is basically $0.30 off), so I sent my hubby on his lunch break to do some shopping for me on Tuesday. He actually got what I asked him to get...nothing more, nothing less!

My Deals:

1. NON-SALE ITEM - 4 packs of 4-pack Cottonelle toilet paper for $0.99 each. I had 2 printable Internet coupons for $0.50 that doubled to $0.99 (2 packs for free!) and 1 coupon that was $0.50 off of 2 packs (doubled to $1.00 off of 2 packs, so 2 packs for $1.00). So, I got 4 packs of toilet paper for $1.00!

2. SALE ITEM - 1 pack of Huggies diapers, advertised for $9.99. The $0.30 off made them $9.69. I had a $1.50 manufacturer's coupon, so I got these for $8.19 (not great, but better than $9.99!).

3. SALE ITEM - 9 cans of Pillsbury Grands biscuits, advertised at $1.29, with the $0.30 off, they were $0.99/each. So, I used 5 $0.25 coupons (doubled to $0.50, so I got 5 cans for $0.49 each) and then I had 2 $0.35 coupons off of 2 cans (doubled to $0.70, so I got 4 more cans for $2.56).

4. SALE ITEM - 10 cans of Hunt's Manwich, advertised at $1.00, with the $0.30 off, they were $0.70/each. So, I used 5 coupons for $0.50 off of 2 cans (doubled to $1.00 off of 2 cans, so I 10 cans of Manwich for $2.00 or $0.20 each can! That is a great deal!)

I had a $5.00 off my next order coupon from a previous Kroger shopping trip (no idea why I got it, it just printed off ony my receipt for that trip!).

My total for this shopping trip was:

Before Coupons: $30.43
After Coupons: $11.66

This is a 76% saving off of the regular price! I love shopping like this! Needless to say, I won't be running out of biscuits or Manwich anytime soon!

I want to apologize for not blogging the past couple of weeks. The hard drive in our laptop died, so I couldn't use that :(. My husband got a great deal on a Dell desktop through his work, so we ordered one and got it last Friday. Yay! So here I am again!

Kroger 1/5-1/11

I went to Kroger the other night to get some items and walked out with such a great deal! Needsless to say my cashier was not too happy, because of my coupons. I glad I haven't had her other times, because I usually have more coupons than I had this night:)

I bought three boxes of Kellogg's cereal, and you get a free gallon of milk which we were in need of. The boxes of cereal were on sale for 3/$8.00 ($2.67 a piece). I had (3) $1.00 coupons which made the cereal $1.67 a piece. I ended up paying $5.01 for 3 boxes of cereal and a gallon of milk:) The GE flood lights were clearance to $1.00 a piece which we will be needing soon. The Softsoap's were on sale for $1.00 for which I had (2) $.35 coupons which doubles to $.70 so I ended up paying $.60 for two soaps. The Colgate toothpaste's were on sale for $1.00 I had (3) coupons for $.75 which doubles to $1.50, so I ended up getting $1.50 overage on the toothpaste's. The Crest toothpaste was on sale for $2.50 I had a $.75 coupon with doubles to $1.50 then I had an e-coupon for $1.50, which I got $.50 overage on. The Glade candles were on clearance for $1.74 for which I had a coupon for $1.50 off of two. The Suave deodorants are on sale for $1.00 each and I had (3) $.50 coupons which doubles to $1.00. And the two Buddies soaps were $.99 each and I had (2) coupons for $1.00 off. My total for everything ended up be $8 and some change. This is a lot for $8.00!!!!!

Walgreens Deals - 1/4/09-1/1/10/09

I promised my husband I would take a couple months of shopping off, because I had such a stock pile and a freezer full of food. Well I still have all of that, but I just can't stop bargain shopping. I had to start back up this month, and let me tell you there are such great deals out there this week you just don't want to pass up! Walgreen's has a super deal and a lot of coupons in their advertisement this week. I did six transactions at Walgreen's this week. If you want to see all the Walgreen's deals go to moneysavingmom. I just bought the stuff that was out of pocket free right now.

Trip 1:
4 cans Progresso Chicken Noodle Soup on sale for $5.00

2 packages of Stayfree pads on sale for $6.99 each

Gardiner Frutis Shampoo on sale for $2.99

Electrasol tabs on sale for $3.59

All of these items were a total of $27. and some change by the time my coupons were taken off I only paid $6. and some change.

I had a buy one get one free Stayfree coupon, then in the Walgreen's add there was a $3.00 off for one pack, well since I bought two packs Walgreen's took $6.00 off. So for two packs of pads I paid $.99. The shampoo there was a $2.00 off coupon in the Easysaver book, then I had a $1.00 manufacturer's coupon which means it was FREE. The Progresso Soups I only had a $1.00 coupon, so I paid a total of $4.00 for 4 cans. The Electrasol tabs were on sale for $3.59 and I had a coupon for $2.50 plus you can send in to Walgreen's for $1.50 rebate. I plan on doing that at the end of the month. I had a $2.00/2 coupon for the Stayfree pads, but one of the Walgreen's would not take the coupon. But in my next transaction I went to another Walgreen's and they had no problem taking the coupons.

Trip 2: This was done in two separate transactions, but each transaction had the same items and it came to the same exact price.

2 packages Stayfree pads
2 Hershey's candy bars
1 box of candy for the kids because it was past their bedtime and they were being so good (one box of candy is missing because the kids eating it):)
1 bottle of Gariner Fructis Shampoo

Of course, I had a buy one get one free stayfree coupon, plus a Walgreen's coupon for $3.00 off a package of pads, plus a $2.00 off manufacturer's coupon, I also had a buy on get one free Hershey's coupon then I used a Walgreen's coupon buy 2 Hersey's candy bars for $1.00. Well the Hershey's candy bars ended up being $.25 a piece. Each box of candy for the kids were $1.00 (no coupon):(. The Garnier Fructis shampoos were on sale for $2.99 I had a $2.00 off Walgreen's coupon from the Walgreen's Easysaver book, and a $1.00 manufacturer's coupon which equals FREE! My total for both transactions were $1.54, and the funny thing most of this price is tax :)

I made a couple more trips to Walgreen's yesterday, but I did not take any pictures. Just the same Stayfree pads and more shampoo and conditioner. I can't pass up get pads for 2/$.99 and free shampoo! My cost yesterday was $1.54 for both transactions. Gotta love sales tax! :)

Wow! The last couple of months have been soooooo busy. With both of my kids birthday's, Christmas, and New Year's I haven't had any time to do anything it seems! I thought I would share some pictures from my kids birthdays. McKinley turned three November 29 and Alayna was two December 26. I don't know what everyone else's New Years resolution is, but mine is losing weight (I know this is everyone's resolution!), and spending more time reading my Bible.

Meijer Deal - FREE JELLO!!!!!!

Wow! What a trip I had tonight to Meijer:) Here is the break down below...

28 boxes of Jello priced at $.64 each- I had 14 Meijer Meal Box $1.50/2 coupons. My Meijer adjusted the coupons down to the price of two Jello's. So I ended up getting 28 Jello's FREE!!!!

8 To Go Campbells Soups on sale for a $1.00 each (Not Pictured, I picked these up for my mom). I had a coupon $.75/4 double. So for 8 of the Campbell's soup I paid $5.00.

3 boxes of Eggo waffles - Buy 3 boxes for $5.00. I had a coupon from Meijer if you buy 3 boxes you get a $1.00 off, then I had a manufacture coupon for $1.00/2, then I had a $.55/1 which doubles. So for all three boxes I paid $1.90.

2 Softsoap's on sale for $.99 each - I had two coupons for $.35/1 coupon which doubles. I paid $.29 for each one.

8 Taco Bell Salsa's priced at $1.85 each. I had a Meijer coupon for each one $1.50/1. So I ended up paying $.35 for each Salsa.

Plus since my kids were so good I bought them a bottle of flavored water for $.89 and a bag of chips for $.89.

So my total at Meijer before coupons was $47.00 after all of my coupons were taken off I paid $13.59 plus I am getting $5.00 back from my mom for her soups. So I actually paid $8.59 for all of my stuff!!!! I LOVE GROCERY SHOPPING NOW!

Wow! I am back again. My computer has been gone for 4 weeks at the computer shop. I am not going to post much. Wow I got a lot of freebies tonight! I love freebies:).

The Gatorade was from Kroger. Kroger sends me coupons every month, so this month they sent me a coupon for a free 6 pk. or 8 pk.. So I saved $4.99 on Gatorade:)

My next trip was to Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart had their Iams can cat food clearance to $.25 each. I had coupons for Iams can cat food 4/$100. So since I had five coupons I got 20 cans of cat food for free:). I also had 4 coupons for free Mighty dog can food, so I bought for cans, but then I also had a coupons buy 4 cans get one free. So since I had "purchased" 4 cans I got another can FREE:). Then in the All You magazine there are coupons for FREE Nabisco Wheat Thins, Oscar Mayer Hot Dogs, Kraft Dressing, Crystal Light, or Kraft Cheese if you purchase 3 Kraft, Nabisco, or Oscar Mayer products excluding single serve. So since the Kool-aid packets aren't single serve I bought six packages of Kool-Aid for $.20 a piece and got a free box of family size Wheat Thins, and a package of Kraft Cheese:)

Well that was my great deal for today. Now I will start planning my CVS trip:)

First I want to say the Lord really blessed me with this shopping trip. If it wasn't for the Lords leading me to use coupons and for him to help me find moneysavingmom.com I wouldn't be able to do this kind of shopping. I went to my local Kroger (Heath, OH) and wow, did I get some great deals. Let's get started...

1. 5 4-packs of Cottonelle toilet paper - $0.99 each
2. 1 box of Cheerios (8.9 oz) - $1.99
3. 2 boxes of Nutripals - Clearanced @ $1.75 each
4. 4 Brut deodorants - Clearanced @ $0.50 each
5. 3 Right Guard deodorants - Clearanced @ $0.75 each

The coupons that I used to lower these prices:

1. 5 $0.25 (doubled to $0.50) for Cottonelle toilet paper - Wound up paying $0.49 each
2. $1.00 coupon for Cheerios
3. $0.55 coupon for Cheerois from shortcuts.com (used in conjunction with the mfg coupon)
4. 4 $0.75 coupons for Brut deodorant (doubled to $1.50 each) - I had $1 overage on these!
5. 2 $1.00 coupons for Right Guard deodorant ($0.25 overage on these)
6. 1 $0.75 coupon for Right Guard deodorant (doubled to $1.50) - I had $0.75 overage on this!

The overage for all the coupons that I used help to bring the price of the Nutripals down to almost nothing. For all of this stuff, I only paid $2.99! The original price before coupons was $37.45...I saved $34.46 off of the regular prices! That's 92% off!

The picture only shows 1 Right Guard deodorant - I gave 2 to my mom and dad! They were free to me, why not share the wealth?!???

While I was in Columbus, we stopped by Walgreen's as well to "legally steal" from this store! The deals I got were tremendous! Check it out...

1. 4 packs of Bic Pens - Each pack was originally $1.99, were on sale for 2 for $1.00. I had 2 coupons for $1.00 off of 2 packs of pens. You guessed it...I got them for free (well, I had to pay sales tax...I got 4 packs of pens for $0.14!)

2. Crayola big Crayons were originally $2.99 but were on sale for $0.99.

My total trip for 4 packs of Bic pens and a pack of Crayons was $1.20!!

CVS Deals from August 11, 2008

I had to take my daughter to a doctor's appointment in Columbus on Monday (8/11) and decided to stop by the CVS in Reynoldsburg on the way home. Deals, Deals, Deals!

1. Lamisil AT Foot Cream was on sale $10.79. If you buy 2 of them, you got $10 ECB (Extra Care Bucks)...to learn about how to use ECB's, check out this blog article from Money Saving Mom about how to use the CVS Extra Care program to save you tons and tons of money.

2. 2 Johnson Buddies Toddler Soaps were on sale for $0.99 each. I had a $2.00 off coupon for 2 bars, so I got them for FREE! I gave one to my mother-in-law to keep at her house for when the kids stay over there.

3. Alavert allergy medicine was on sale for $5.99. I used a $4.00 off coupon and only paid $1.99 for it, and earned $3.00 ECB's. We all have allergies around here!

4. CVS Brand Cotton Swabs were on sale for $1.50.

I had $3.00 off a $15 purchase from CVS and 2 $4.00 Lamisil coupons and 1 $4.00 coupon for Alavert. I also used a $5 ECB and a $0.50 ECB which brought by total down from $31.05 down to $9.76 after all coupons, sales and ECB's! Walgreen's Trip - August 13, 2008

My family and I went to Walgreen's after church Wednesday night, and boy, did we get some deals! My receipt indicates that my total SHOULD have been $31.75. What did I pay? $8.79!

Here's how:

1. Walgreen's brand diapers: Buy One for $7.99 and get one for 50% off. I had a $5.00 coupon for Walgreen's (in the August Walgreen's Easy Saver catalog).

2. Scrubbing Bubbles Action Scrubber Kit: Was on sale for $5.49, but I used a printable coupon for $2.75 off.

3. Hershey's Bliss bagged candy was on sale for 2 for $6. In the Walgreen's Easy Saver catalog, there was a coupon for $2 off for 2 bags. I used 2 mfg coupons for Buy One get One Free and 2 printable coupons from www.coupons.com. I got 4 bags of this for FREE! Yum! Yum!

I have a coupon for a mail-in rebate from scrubbing bubbles for $5! You better believe I will be mailing that bad boy in and getting overage on it! I love bargain shopping!

Grocery shopping trip - Week of July 26th - $418.19 for $102.99! Holy Cow!

I really made out during our Saturday, 7/26 shopping trip! Kroger had their "Mega-Event" and it was very, very mega! They had certain items on sale, and you could mix and match. Buy any 10 of these items and receive $5 off of that purchase. They are also having this sale the week of August 2nd. Here is a link to Kroger's sale ad for this week! This store ad is for the Kroger in my area (New Lexington, Ohio)...you may want to find the store ad for the Kroger in your area.

You could only have 3 of these deals for each shopping trip. I decided to take full advantage of these trips, so we made multiple trips! Since the deal is $5.00 off of 10 items, basically each item has an additional $0.50 off the coupon price!

Kroger Deal #1

20 bags of Tidy Cats cat litter - normal price $2.00 each. These were on sale for $1.50 each. I bought 20 $1.00 off coupons off of eBay for $1.00 (for all 20). I got these for $0.50 each!
Betty Crocker cookie mixes - on sale for $1.50 each. I used a "Save $1.00 on 2 packages" coupon and got two packages for $2.00 (only $1.00 each!)
Bett Crocker Warm Delights bowl - on sale for $1.50 each. I had a bonus coupon (from www.shortcuts.com - these coupons load directly onto your Kroger card) for $0.50 and I also used a $0.55 manufacturer's coupon (Kroger doubled it to $1.10). I got this for FREE!
Betty Crocker frosting was on sale for $1.00. I had a $0.55 coupon fron www.coupons.com, so I got this frosting for only $0.45!
Daisy Lite Sour Cream (16 oz) was on sale for $1.00. I used a $0.50 manufacturer's coupon (which Kroger doubled to $1.00). I got this for FREE!
Cattlemen's BBQ sauce (18 oz) was on sale for $1.00. I used a $0.50 manufacturer's coupon (which Kroger doubled to $1.00). I got this for FREE!
Frank's Red Hot sauce (12 oz) was on sale for $1.00. I used 3 $0.50 manufacturer's coupons and got 3 of these for FREE! I gave my mother in law and aunt 2 of the bottles, since we don't use this very often. I use it in my cheese ball recipe! Yum-Yum!
Pupperoni dog snacks were on sale for $2.00. I used a $1.00 manufacturer's coupon and got these dog snacks for $1.00!

This deal should have been $57.50...with the mega-event deals and my coupons, I paid only $14.73!

Kroger Deal #2

Soft Scrub cleaners were on sale for $2.50 each. I used 3 $0.50 manufacturer's coupons (which Kroger doubled to $1.00) and got 3 bottles for only $3.00 - only $1.00 each!
Lysol Toilet Cling was on sale for $2.00 each. I used a $0.50 manufacturer's coupon (which Kroger doubled to $1.00) and got it for $0.50!
Lysol All-Purpose cleaners were on sale for $2.00 each. I used 6 $0.50 manufacturer's coupons (which Kroger doubled to $1.00 each). With the mega-event discount, I got each bottle for only $0.50 each!
Lysol toilet bowl cleaners were on sale for $2.00 each. I had 6 coupons, but I forgot to use them! Shame on me! However, with the mega-event discount, I still got them for $1.50 each ($9.00 for all 6...still a pretty good price!)
Pledge dust cleaner was on sale for $3.00 each. I used a Buy One get one Free coupon, a buy 2 get $2.00 off coupon as well as a $1.00 off coupon. After all of these, I got each bottle for only $1.00 each!
Hebrew National kosher hot dogs were on sale for $3.00 each. I used 4 $0.75 manufacturer's coupons (which Kroger doubled to $1.50!) and with the mega-event discount, I got 4 packages for only $4.00 (only $1.00 each)!
Ken's Ranch Salad Dressings (16 oz) were on sale for $2.00. I used a $0.50 manufacturer's coupon (which Kroger doubled) and with the mega-event savings, I paid only $0.50 for it!
Ken's Northern Italian Salad Dressings (16 oz) were on sale for $2.00. I used a $0.50 manufacturer's coupon (which Kroger doubled) and with the mega-event savings, I paid only $0.50 for it!
Mott's Applesauce (48 oz) was on sale for $2.50 and (gasp!) I had no coupon! :( Still, $2.50 for it isn't a bad deal!
Heinz Ketchup (32 oz) was on sale for $2.00 and (gasp! again!) I had no coupon! Again, the sale price wasn't and I needed Ketchup anyways!
Pillsbury Cake Mix was on sale for $0.94 and (gasp! again!) I had no coupon, again! Since it was for my hubby's birthday, I didn't think too much about the price, anyways!
Keebler Club crackers were on sale for $3.00, and once again, I had no coupon! But, my kids LOVE these crackers!

The total for all of these items would have been $71.94, however, I only paid $34.07 with coupons and the mega-event savings!

Kroger Deal #3

Capri Suns were on sale for $2.00 each box. I used a "Save $1.00 when you purchase 2" coupon and with the mega-event discount, I got them $1.00 each!
Sargento mozzerella cheese was on sale for $2.00 bag and I had no coupon (gasp!), but this was still a good sale.
Tropicana Coastal Groves lemonades (Original, Raspberry & Peach) was on sale for $2.50 each. I used 3 $1.00 coupons and with the mega-event savings, I paid only $1.00 each for them!

The total of this order came up to $63.50, but with my coupons and mega-event discount, I paid only $17.45!

Kroger Deal #4

Lysol bathroom cleaners were on sale for $2.00. I used 6 $0.50 coupons (which Kroger doubled) on top of the mega-event discount and got them each for $0.50!
Lysol all-purpose cleaners were on sale for $2.00 and used 7 $0.50 coupons (which Kroger doubled) on top of the mega-event discount and got them each for $0.50!
Windex was on sale for $2.50 each bottle. I used a $0.40 coupon (which Kroger doubled) and a $0.75 coupon (which Kroger also doubled) and got them for a combined $1.70!
Ego waffles were on sale for $2.00 each box. I got one box (gasp! - had no coupon!). Still this was an alright deal.
3 more bags of cat litter! I had 3 $1.00 coupons from the SmartSource insert in the newspaper and on top of the mega-event savings, I got them each for $0.50 each!
Tyson boxed chicken tenders and patties were on sale for $2.50 each. I used 5 "Save $1.00 when you buy two) coupons and after the mega-event discount, I paid only $15.00 for 10 boxes! The kids love the chicken tenders!

Trip to Meijer

Meijer had a "Buy select 10 items and get the 11th item free. These select items could be mixed and matched, so you did not have to buy 10 of each item, which made it very convenient!

Betty Crocker Warm Delights bowls were on sale for $1.00 each. I used 3 $0.50 coupons (which Meijer doubled) and a $0.55 coupon (which Meijer also doubled) and got 4 bowls for FREE!
Colgate toothpaste was on sale for $1.00 each. I had 2 $0.75 coupons (which Meijer doubled) and 2 $0.50 coupons (which Meijer also doubled) and got all 4 for FREE!
Veal was on sale for $1.00 each package. I had no coupons, but this was still one heck of a deal!
Garnier Fructis shampoo & conditioner were on sale for $2.50 each and I used 2 $1.00 coupons and got a bottle of each for only $1.50!

The total of my Meijer trip came up to $15.99 but with the store discount from the sale and my coupons, I paid only $6.21!

All in all, last week's shopping trip was very successful. With Kroger having the same sale this week, you could also do well with coupons, etc!

In the beginning...

Well, this is my first post to my shiny, brand new blog. Just to kind of let everyone (hopefully there will be people!) know what to expect, I plan on writing about things that not only matter to me, but things that matter to everyone that is interested in what this blog is all about: Faith, Family & Frugality. Surely there is someone out there that cares about those things! So, with much ado about nothing, I will say, Adios.

And the evening and the morning was the first day...
